The welcoming scent of a room. The soft fragrance of freshly made bedding. Both can make home feel more inviting, but they call for different sprays.
Room spray and linen spray may look similar on a shelf. The difference is where they are intended to go: one fragrances the air, while the other adds scent to suitable fabrics. Here is how to choose between them—and why using the right bottle matters.
What is the difference between room spray and linen spray?
Room spray
A fine mist for scenting the air in your living room, hallway, bedroom or other indoor space. Use it when you want to introduce fragrance to the room itself.
Linen & fabric spray
A fragrance mist for suitable textiles, such as washable bed linen, curtains or throws. Use it when you want to lightly scent the fabric, following its care instructions.
The distinction goes beyond the fragrance name. The formula and directions determine how a product should be used. A scent described as “fresh linen” is not automatically suitable for spraying onto bedding.
Can you use room spray on bedding?
Our room sprays are intended for the air, not for direct application to bedding, clothes or upholstery. Even if you love the fragrance, do not use a room spray as a substitute for a linen spray.
A product intended for the air should not be assumed suitable for fabric contact. Fragrance ingredients can mark or affect materials, and a quick patch test does not change the product’s intended use. Choose a spray specifically labelled for suitable linens and fabrics instead.
Can you use linen spray as a room spray?
Bojuna Linen & Fabric Sprays are intended for suitable textiles and should not be sprayed directly into the air as room sprays. Their water-based formulation does not make them an interchangeable home fragrance product.
For fragrance in the air, choose a room spray. For a light scent on suitable bedding or a throw, choose a linen and fabric spray. You do not need both for every occasion; start with what you want to fragrance.
How to use room spray
Following the directions on your chosen bottle, mist lightly into the centre of a well-ventilated room, away from your face, other people, pets and surfaces. Let the fragrance disperse before deciding whether you need more.
Avoid spraying directly onto fabrics, furniture or floors. Keep away from heat and naked flames, and avoid breathing the mist directly. The size of the room and its ventilation affect how the fragrance is experienced, so a light application is a sensible starting point.
How to use linen and fabric spray
Check the textile’s care label first. Shake the bottle gently, test a small hidden area and allow the test patch to dry fully before treating more of the fabric.
For our 250 ml Linen & Fabric Sprays, hold the bottle approximately 20–30 cm away and apply a light, even mist. Do not soak the fabric. Let it dry completely before use or direct skin contact. Spray clothing only when it is not being worn.
Avoid silk, satin, suede, leather, delicate or dry-clean-only materials and fabrics that are not colourfast. Protect surrounding furniture and flooring from overspray. A linen spray adds fragrance between washes; it does not replace washing or act as a disinfectant or stain remover.
Choose the fragrance for your moment
For a softly floral welcome, Sunset Blossom Room Spray brings warm, inviting fragrance to the air. It is an easy choice for scenting a living space before settling in for the evening.
For suitable bedding and everyday textiles, explore Linen & Musk, or choose the creamy fragrance character of Shea Butter Linen & Fabric Spray. Shea Butter describes the scent; it does not mean the spray contains shea butter.
If you use both formats in the same space, keep the application light and choose fragrances you enjoy together. Each spray should still be used only as directed.
A little care with every spray
Neither format is a body spray. Keep away from children and pets, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and follow the full directions and safety information on your chosen product’s label.
